授業題目Advenced Listening and Speaking Skills, supported by reading and writing
授業の達成目標•    Learn English vocabulary and grammar for use in discussions and presentations in English
•    Practice expression opinions and ideas in English
•    Gain confidence to be active and engaged in real life conversations
今年度の授業内容This course builds on the previous courses and teaches student to use their English in discussion and presentation situations using the Berlitz Method of Instruction. In each class, the instructor will teach new language, and students will practice using it through a variety of interactive discussion and presentation activities. The course focuses on speaking and listening, supported by reading and writing.
準備学修予習・復習等の具体的な内容及びそれに必要な時間について• Students are recommended to do the following activities outside of class to encourage retention of the class contents.

o Keeping an English diary (noting opinions and reasons for opinions about various topics)
o Making a vocabulary list of new words
o Using the audio files provided to review and develop pronunciation
o Attending events such as English lounge to get more opportunities to speak English

授業の運営方法In this course, students use the 'Practical Discussions and Presentations' textbook. This text continues the 'Berlitz English for University Students' series, and is designed specifically to target the language development needs of Japanese university students in the context of discussion and presentation tasks. Students will learn to express their opinions and participate in discussion sessions and discussion-style conversation with speaking practice. They will learn how to develop their ideas in effective presentations. Students are required to take 2 mini-tests (one discussion and one presentation) during the course and a final exam.
