授業題目Practical Reading and Writing Skills, supported by speaking and listening
授業の達成目標•    Learn basic English vocabulary and grammar used in academic writing
•    Practice recognizing and understanding important language while reading passages
•    Develop confidence in using English accurately in writing
今年度の授業内容This course builds on the previous course and provides students with a wider base in written English. Classes use the Cambridge Unlock Reading & Writing 2 textbook and are taught using the Berlitz Method of Instruction. In each class, the instructor will teach new language, and students will practice using it through a variety of practice activities, including interactive reading comprehension and writing activities. The course focuses on reading and writing, supported by speaking and listening.
準備学修予習・復習等の具体的な内容及びそれに必要な時間について• Students are recommended to do the following activities outside of class to encourage retention of the class contents.

o Keeping an English diary
o Making a vocabulary list of new words
o Accessing and reading English websites related to their interests
o Attending events such as English lounge to get more opportunities to speak English		 合計15時間
自習に関する一般的な指示事項Activities at home, such as keeping an English diary, are recommended to help students retain new vocabulary studied in class. Completing all homework exercises is an essential part of this course.

授業の運営方法In this course, students use the 'Unlock Level 2 Reading, Writing and Critical Thinking' textbook. This text is designed to support students in their use of English in academic contexts, focusing on the development of accurate, effective communication in writing, and comprehension of written material on a variety of topics. All lessons include speaking and listening tasks alongside reading and writing to give students the confidence to use the language they learn accross different forms of communication.
 Students are required to take 2 mini-tests during the course and a final exam.
